The PSPV-PSOE has formally joined as a plaintiff in the judicial case investigating alleged irregularities in the management of commerce vouchers promoted by the Alicante Provincial Council, aiming to defend public funds and demand transparency.
The socialist party maintains that this decision responds to its intention to strengthen oversight of funds that, in its opinion, may have been used irregularly. The case focuses on the management linked to the president of Facpyme, Carlos Baño, who is under investigation for alleged crimes of subsidy fraud, document forgery, and possible scam.
Socialists recall that Baño, who acted as an intermediary in the management of aid in his capacity as president of the small business association of Alicante, was arrested by the National Police and later released with charges. Furthermore, they argue that the public funds for the Consumption Voucher came from both the Alicante Provincial Council and the participating municipalities.

"This involvement responds to our firm commitment to transparency, legality, and the defense of public money. We will not look the other way in the face of possible irregularities that directly affect the interests of citizens."
The party has reiterated its demand to suspend the granting of public funds to the Alicante Chamber of Commerce while its president remains subject to judicial investigation. At the same time, it proposes that alternative measures be articulated so that aid to businesses continues to arrive without interruption.

"The commerce vouchers were created as a tool to help small businesses in a difficult time, but what we cannot allow is for them to be tarnished by management under suspicion. It is a matter of political responsibility and respect for merchants and citizens."
The socialist leader has also insisted that, as long as an investigation is open, it is prudent and ethical to remove any shadow of doubt, demanding the immediate suspension of funds to the Chamber of Commerce until the facts are fully clarified.
