Despite the moderate follow-up of the strike, which on its first day was 7.43% across the Valencian Community, it is possible that your consultation, test, or surgery has been canceled. In previous stoppages since September, 200,000 procedures had to be canceled, including 3,059 surgeries and 83,117 appointments in external consultations.
“"Participation is being extraordinary."
According to official data from the Ministry of Health, Monday's participation was 7.43%, lower than that of the February stoppages. The province of Alicante registered the highest participation, with 11.75%, while Valencia had 5.75% and Castellón 4.54%.
The low impact perceived by patients is due to the low participation and lack of awareness about the call for strike. Many citizens, like a patient leaving a consultation at the Arnau de Vilanova Hospital in Valencia, were unaware of the strike.
“"It's very good that they go on strike. Everyone should be valued in their work."
If your appointment is canceled, the Ministry of Health assures that all affected appointments will be rescheduled and users will be informed. To verify the status of your appointment before going to the center, it is recommended to call the number that appears on your appointment within the GVA+ Salut application.
Valencian public healthcare accumulates almost half a million patients on waiting lists for surgeries or specialist consultations, raising concerns about waiting times for rescheduled appointments.
