The Local Development Agency of Alicante City Council, Impulsalicante, held its Alicante Futura Lab 2026 Showcase Day. The event marked the end of a new program edition, established as a training space where 29 young talents showcased technological solutions to challenges posed by companies within the city's innovative ecosystem.
The gathering brought together participants from the standard and micro editions, alongside representatives from companies, human resources professionals, and agents involved in innovation, technology, and employment. The primary objective was to highlight the talent trained and foster direct contact between participants and the business community.
Participants from the standard edition presented projects developed over three months of work, organized into 6 working groups. These groups addressed real challenges posed by collaborating companies and the Alicante City Council, demonstrating the program's practical approach based on collaborative methodologies and applied learning.
The event featured institutional welcomes from Toño Peral, Councilor for Presidency, Urban Planning, Innovation, Strategic Plans, and European Projects, and Elisa Díaz, Head of Employment and Promotion Service at Impulsalicante. Both emphasized the program's role in promoting digital skills and enhancing employability.
Sebastián de Prado, Head of Technology at The Ocean Race, also spoke, delivering a talk on the value of technology and innovation in international projects, offering an inspiring perspective on applying technological talent in global environments.
The Showcase Day served as a key meeting point between students and companies, facilitating the identification of new professional capabilities and the establishment of contacts for integration into technology teams and digital transformation areas.
Alicante Futura Lab is part of the Alicante Futura strategy, driven by the Alicante City Council through Impulsalicante, aiming to strengthen the city as a hub for innovation and new professional opportunities. The program seeks to align training with market needs and foster collaboration among administration, businesses, and citizens.
