The PSPV calculates a cut of 125 million euros in investments planned for the province of Alicante in the Generalitat's budgets, a figure the Consell disputes, speaking of an increase of 15 million.

The PSPV-PSOE has calculated that the Generalitat's budgets for Alicante imply a cut of 125 million euros in investments, dropping from 416 million planned to 291 million. According to the socialists, this would be the second consecutive reduction, after 70 million were already cut last year. The regional government, on the other hand, assures that investments for the province are increasing by 15 million euros compared to the previous year, reaching 39% of the total investment, while the population represents 37%.
The PSPV criticizes that, of the investments planned for last year, only 152 million were mobilized, 36% of the total. The Generalitat's global budget for 2026 amounts to 33.305 billion euros, 3.1% more than the previous year. The Ministry of Economy and Finance states that territorialized investments are improving both in amount and population percentage in Alicante, including capital transfers and subsidies that, according to the PSPV, total 18.8 million euros.
Among the planned investments, the Health sector receives the most funds, with 121.5 million euros. Of these, more than 28 million would be allocated to the renovation of the Marina Baixa Hospital in Vila Joiosa. Other health projects include the Garbinet health center in Alicante (5.5 million) and renovations in various hospitals and health centers in the province.
The Justice department plans 50.5 million, mainly for the Ciudad de la Justicia in Alicante. 5 million are also allocated to the Exterior Health building at the Port. Agriculture will invest 34.5 million, with priority for the Vega Renhace II Plan and the reduction of flood risk in the Segura river.
In Education, of the 34.7 million, almost two-thirds will go to the IES Pere Maria Orts in Benidorm and the CEIP La Almadraba in Alicante. Environment and Infrastructure plan 27.8 million for the maintenance of road networks. 3.1 million are also allocated to a Specialized Center for Elderly Care in Orihuela.
