The Urbanova area in Alicante will host its summer market starting next Thursday, June 18. This initiative, now in its third year, will feature 26 stalls authorized by the City Council's Commerce and Markets department, specializing in food and textiles.
The market will be set up every Thursday, in the afternoon (from 4 PM to 11 PM), on Músico José Mira Figueroa street, specifically between carretera del Saladar and Profesor Rafael Casasemper. The summer season for this activity will run until September 17.
Organized by the Provincial Autonomous Association of Market Vendors, this event has been well-received in previous years, responding to requests from local residents. The Councilor for Markets and Commerce, Lidia López, highlighted the event's success, noting that "sales and public attendance are very positive" and that both residents and vendors "were very happy".
López emphasized the importance of these markets for supplying basic products to both residents and visitors, avoiding unnecessary travel. She also praised the quality of "zero-kilometer" products and the personalized service from vendors, which increasingly attracts customers.
This initiative aims to provide this tourist area, with its significant number of residences and constant influx of tourists, with accessible shops for basic food items and crafts.
