Traffic reorganization in the center of Alicante will begin this Tuesday at 9:30 AM on Méndez Núñez boulevard. This measure is being taken to allow the assembly of the structure that will host, for the first time in history, the rehearsals and the Bellea del Foc candidates gala. The children's gala will take place on Friday, while the adult one will be on Saturday, both days starting at 8:00 PM.
In addition to the road reorganization, the routes of several urban and interurban bus lines, as well as their usual stops, will be modified. These alterations will follow the itineraries already established for other events that involve the closure of this central area, such as Carnival, Holy Week, or the Hogueras, as reported by the city council in a statement.
“"Moving the celebration of the festival to Méndez Núñez boulevard for the first time in history aims to find a very representative and definitive central location that highlights the prominence of the candidates and the importance of the Bellea del Foc title."
The Councilor for Festivities has highlighted the importance of this new location for the gala, as it seeks to give greater visibility and relevance to the candidates and the title of Bellea del Foc. Likewise, she has asked for patience and understanding from drivers and residents affected by the traffic measures and has recommended the use of public transport during these days.
The detours will affect urban and interurban bus lines 2, 5, 8, 10, 12, 13, 21, 22, and 39, as well as night lines 3N, 13N, and 24N, and the Turibús. These modifications will be in effect from this Tuesday, April 21, until April 26. The usual stops on the Rambla will be moved to the closest points of the detours.
For example, lines 2, 3N, 12, 21, 22, and the Turibús will be diverted, in both directions, from Plaza de la Mar via the Mártires de la Libertad, Ramón y Cajal, Gadea, and Plaza de Calvo Sotelo axis. Line 5 will shorten its route to San Vicente street and Plaza de España. Lines 8, 10, 13, 13N, and 24N will shorten their routes to the Méndez Núñez boulevard area from Tomás López Torregrosa street. Line 39 will be diverted to Alfonso el Sabio avenue via San Vicente street.
