The National Police have dismantled a family clan in Elda that, according to the investigation, held a man in conditions of slavery to force him to sell drugs, culminating in the arrest of ten people and the dismantling of a drug sales point.

The police operation, which took place in Elda, has led to the liberation of a man who managed to escape from the dwelling where he was being held. According to investigations, the family clan kept him in conditions of slavery to force him to traffic drugs. In total, ten individuals have been arrested, including two minors.
This action by the National Police has not only led to the arrest of the group members but has also dismantled an active drug sales point located in a marginalized neighborhood of the town. During the search, officers confiscated 2,970 euros in cash and various jewels, believed to be proceeds from illicit drug sales.

The victim reported being subjected to a regime of denigration and control within the property. Taking advantage of a lapse, he managed to escape and seek help at police facilities, which allowed the alleged crimes of illegal detention, extortion, and degrading treatment to be incorporated into the investigation.

The arrested individuals face charges for drug trafficking, belonging to a criminal group, electricity fraud, crimes against property, violent robbery, extortion, degrading treatment, and illegal detention. The investigation began following information about the reactivation of a drug sales point in a dwelling in a marginalized neighborhood of Elda, where continuous movement of people was observed.
The Judicial Police of the Elda-Petrer Police Station established a surveillance operation that confirmed the criminal activity. It was determined that the organization, composed of members of the same family clan, was engaged in the sale and distribution of cocaine, heroin, and marijuana from a house with strong security measures. The victim's testimony, who managed to escape and report the situation, was crucial for the investigation's progress.
