The PSPV-PSOE has requested the judge in Llíria to impute two former high-ranking officials of the Consell de Carlos Mazón, Alberto Martín Moratilla and Ricardo García, for the leak of a confidential Aemet audio regarding the management of the DANA.

The request by the Valencian socialists, acting as a popular prosecution in the case, focuses on the acquisition of a confidential recording between Aemet and the Generalitat's Emergency Center. According to the statement by Jorge Suárez, former deputy director of Emergencies, access to this audio was a “request from the Presidency” of the Generalitat.

Given that there was only interest in obtaining this call out of the countless ones that occurred on October 29, 2024, and given that precisely, it was this call that appeared leaked in the media and disseminated through the social networks of Carlos Mazón and the Popular Party of the Valencian Community, the summons as investigated parties of the two public officials who showed interest in obtaining the recording of the disseminated phone call is considered pertinent.

The PSPV-PSOE's brief, accessed by this newspaper, highlights that the leaked call was subsequently disseminated by Carlos Mazón and the Popular Party of the Valencian Community on their social media. This dissemination implied that Aemet was not providing reliable information, a claim that was later debunked by various media outlets that published the full conversation.
Ricardo García, former undersecretary of the department led by Salomé Pradas, obtained the recording on a USB stick, claiming there was “haste” and that it was a “request from the Presidency”. Meanwhile, Alberto Martín Moratilla, former director general of Emergencies and current chief inspector of the operational service of the Alicante Provincial Firefighters Consortium, was the one who requested the recording of the call between the Aemet forecaster and the Generalitat official from the deputy director of Emergencies.
The socialist party reminds that the Aemet and Emergencies officials, who were harmed by the recording, never authorized its dissemination. Furthermore, they emphasize Jorge Suárez's comment, who acknowledged that in his extensive professional career, “nothing similar had ever happened”.
