The City Council of L'Eliana has launched a new institutional campaign to promote tap water consumption, emphasizing the quality guaranteed by the municipal denitrification plant.

The initiative seeks to raise public awareness about the advantages of choosing the municipality's water, a valuable resource thanks to the local denitrification plant. This public infrastructure continuously purifies, analyzes, and cleans the water to offer a high-quality service, a capability few municipalities possess.
This campaign aims to definitively debunk myths about the quality of public water. While in the past nitrate peaks exceeding 90 mg/L were recorded, currently, thanks to the denitrification plant's work, levels are safely maintained below 50 mg/L, and even below 40 mg/L, surpassing all health controls.
Regarding the taste debate, the council reminds that it's a personal perception linked to chlorine, necessary for potability. It offers three simple domestic tips to improve it: letting the water rest for chlorine to evaporate, storing it in the refrigerator to neutralize the taste, or using domestic filtering systems like filter jugs. To experience it firsthand, an open water tasting will be held next Wednesday, June 17th, at the Municipal Market, in collaboration with the company Veolia.
The campaign also emphasizes the enormous economic and environmental benefits of this action. According to data from Veolia, tap water is 300 times cheaper than bottled water, thus avoiding payment for a resource already available at home. Consuming tap water leads to direct savings for families, drastically reduces plastic waste, and improves daily convenience by eliminating the need to carry heavy bottles.

"We are very fortunate to have cutting-edge technology in our town that guarantees us maximum quality water directly, conveniently, and safely. We save money, take care of our health, and also avoid generating tons of plastic waste."
