“"The Conselleria says that confrontation refers to physical confrontation of plots, but that is not what the LOTUP says. Now a lawsuit is being prepared, I suppose before the Superior Court of Justice, where we will provide expert evidence of the effects of this project on the municipal area of Casinos."

The Casinos town council faces three key challenges in the current legislature: the opening of the day center, halting the biomethane plant project in Llíria, and finding solutions for the lack of housing, especially for the young population.
The Casinos town council has filed an appeal against the Llíria biomethane plant project, which has been rejected by the Autonomous Secretariat for the Environment. The council disagrees with this decision, as they believe the LOTUP (Law on Territorial, Urban and Landscape Planning) requires informing neighboring municipalities about projects with significant environmental impact.
Furthermore, a requirement has been made to the Autonomous Secretariat for the Environment and Territory, as the General Directorate of Energy and Mines has ruled in favor of another company for the adaptation of infrastructures and the injection of renewable gas in the macro-plant area. It is considered that the Environmental Assessment Law of 2013 is being violated because the biomethanization project and the gas injection infrastructure have been processed separately, representing a functional fragmentation that has not been jointly assessed.
Another major challenge is the opening of the day center, which is in its final phase. The building is already equipped, and administrative and funding procedures have been resolved. Now, certification from the secretariat and intervention is awaited for the transfer of the building to the Conselleria and subsequent management, which is expected to be done through tender. The goal is to complete the entire process this year.
Finally, the lack of housing, especially for the young population, is a significant concern. The town council is seeking ways to solve this problem, such as acquiring rural land and reclassifying it, always within legality, to facilitate affordable housing. The need to reorganize participation in commonwealths to avoid duplications and additional expenses has also been highlighted.
