This project, included in the Valencian Heritage Recovery Plan, will allow the rehabilitation and consolidation of the 18th-century building, declared a Local Relevance Asset, which has been disused for decades. The transfer of the property from the owning family to the Quartell City Council has been a decisive step for its recovery.
In addition to this intervention, the Camp de Morvedre region will benefit from a second project in Canet d'en Berenguer, where 257,000 euros will be invested in the first phase of restoration of the remains of the 14th-century medieval wall. In total, the investment in the region amounts to 757,180 euros.
“"This plan represents the most important boost to Valencian heritage in the last decade and responds to a commitment to investment in history and local development."
The provincial program will mobilize nearly 12 million euros for the recovery of heritage assets in various Valencian regions. It includes interventions in castles, palaces, and hermitages, with the aim of preserving the identity of the municipalities and strengthening their tourist appeal.
The vice president of the Provincial Council emphasized that the program should never have been neglected and announced the intention to expand the allocation with an additional five million euros to address more municipal requests. The objective is to prevent the loss of historical elements and enhance them as a cultural and tourist resource, facilitating the execution of works with the payment of 75% of the aid at the start.
