A common dolphin has been found dead in an advanced state of decomposition on Almardà beach in Sagunto, as confirmed by the Oceanogràfic. The City Council will manage its removal.

A common dolphin, the most frequent species in the Mediterranean, has been found dead in an advanced state of decomposition on the Almardà beach in Sagunto. The Oceanogràfic confirmed the discovery after receiving a report this Tuesday around 1:30 PM.
A pedestrian alerted about the animal's body about 300 meters from the shore, leading to the notification of the local police. Upon their arrival and as the carcass neared the coast, it was confirmed to be a dolphin in a highly advanced state of decay.
Due to the state of decomposition, it was not possible to perform a necropsy to determine the cause of death. Consequently, the Oceanogràfic did not attend the scene, and the Sagunto City Council will be responsible for the animal's removal.
