Construction works on an urban plot for the creation of a public parking lot.

Elche City Council has initiated the process to pave an 8,500 square meter plot located next to the Local Police Headquarters, creating 403 parking spaces.

After several delays due to the economic adjustment plan, the council has decided to push forward with this action. The project, which has a maximum budget of 639,000 euros, has a three-month execution period once the works begin. The goal is to organize a space that is currently used irregularly.
The parking layout includes 117 spaces reserved for the Local Police, which will have independent fencing and video surveillance systems. The rest of the space will be divided between 10 spaces for people with reduced mobility and 276 spaces for local residents, municipal staff, and general users.
Although the plot is classified in the General Plan as educational equipment, the local government has opted for this provisional use given the lack of plans to build educational centers at this location. The work includes paving, installation of public lighting, and the necessary road signage to ensure safety.
