The former president of the Valencian Generalitat, Ximo Puig, is delivering the conference «Multilateralism or barbarism. The years we lived dangerously» today, Tuesday, April 14, at the Casino Orcelitano-Ateneo Cultural in Orihuela.

The event, organized by the University of Alicante's Campus in Orihuela, will begin at 7 PM. The director of the University Campus in Orihuela, Maribel Peñalver, will be responsible for presenting the event and the speaker.
Puig is offering this conference in his capacity as an ambassador for the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This international organization, founded in 1961 and headquartered in Paris, brings together more than 35 member countries and aims to coordinate economic and social policies, analyze data, and promote well-being, prosperity, and equality.
The OECD is an intergovernmental entity where member countries collaborate to address economic, social, and environmental challenges arising from interdependence and globalization. It was created after World War II as the Organisation for European Economic Co-operation (OEEC) to coordinate the Marshall Plan, and in 1961, it transformed into the current OECD, with a transatlantic and, subsequently, global vocation. Spain has been a member since August 3, 1961.
Currently, the OECD has over 35 members, and more than 100 countries collaborate in its work. Its Secretariat, led by Angel Gurría since June 2006, carries out the organization's regular activities. Its functions in economic and commercial matters include the analysis and publication of comparative data and forecasts, the promotion of measures to foster economic growth and stability, and cooperation among governments to strengthen multilateral trade.
