The Torrevieja City Council has decided to enhance security and healthcare at its weekly market with the addition of an assistance ambulance service, operational from Friday, April 24.

This new healthcare resource will provide immediate attention in case of incidents and facilitate transfers to health centers when necessary. The measure responds to the high number of visitors the market attracts every Friday, especially during the summer months.
Municipal planning has considered the concentration of people and climatic conditions as factors that can cause health incidents, mostly minor, such as dizziness, hypotension, trauma, or heatstroke. Therefore, the incorporation of a preventive resource that allows for rapid intervention within the market premises has been deemed essential, improving user care and avoiding unnecessary trips to health centers.
The Type B (Basic Life Support) assistance ambulance service will be available every Friday, or on the day the market is held if modified due to weather conditions, from 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM, at the Antonio Soria Park venue.
This initiative is being implemented through the collaboration of the departments of Public Health, Markets, and Security and Emergencies, with the aim of providing a quick and effective response to any health incident that may occur. With this action, the Torrevieja City Council strengthens security and improves the quality of services provided in one of the city's most frequented spaces, ensuring greater peace of mind for both citizens and visitors.
