The city of Torrevieja is preparing for its May Fair, an event that blends Andalusian folklore, music, and gastronomy, establishing itself as one of the most anticipated dates on the local festive calendar.

From Thursday, May 7th to Sunday, May 10th, Antonio Soria Park will once again host this celebration, which is already one of the most popular and crowded in the province of Alicante. The fair, declared a Provincial Tourist Interest Festival, stands out for its appeal and its tourist projection on the Costa Blanca.
This edition's announcement poster features an elegant and contemporary image, with a composition in blue and violet tones and a female figure dressed in traditional Andalusian elements. This visual proposal combines tradition and modernity, reflecting the festive atmosphere and the essence of an event already fully recognizable in Torrevieja's spring season.
This year, the fairgrounds will feature the participation of 13 entities, bringing to life a total of 15 booths, transforming the May Fair into a large space for coexistence and gathering. The municipal booth, as in previous years, will benefit Alimentos Solidarios and will have its own program that can be consulted on the social media channels of the Torrevieja City Council.
Additionally, the fairgrounds will once again feature a Punto Violeta (Violet Point), a space for information, awareness, and assistance to continue advancing towards safe, egalitarian, and violence-free festivities.
This year's program will highlight the talent of Torrevieja's dance academies and schools, essential protagonists of the May Fair. Academies such as Mery Dance Academy, the Municipal Dance School of Torrevieja, Soul Dance, the Paya’s Dance School, the QK Dance Academy, and the Ángela Esteban Dance School will take to the main stage to showcase their work and the vitality of dance in the city.
The inauguration will include the performance of the Torrevieja anthem by the UMT band and will conclude with a fireworks display. During the inaugural act, the City Council will pay tribute to the State Security Forces and Corps for their ongoing service to citizens and their work in ensuring everyone's safety, especially at large events like the May Fair.
The program also includes prominent musical performances. On Friday, La Cuarta Cuerda, an emerging flamenco-pop and rumba group with great projection, will perform. Saturday will feature Raya Evolution, composed of members of Raya Real, a reference group in rumba and Andalusian festive music. Additionally, there will be the traditional Rocío mass, a parade of horsemen and carriages, a horse ride, and the final of the Copla Contest organized by the Casa de Andalucía “Rafael Alberti”.
