The Orihuela Historical Archive is hosting an exhibition until June 30th dedicated to the documentary collection of Triunfo magazine, stemming from the donation by José Ángel Ezcurra.

To mark International Archives Day 2026, the exhibition will showcase the valuable collection from the Private Archive donated by José Ángel Ezcurra, who directed Triunfo magazine from 1962 to 1982. The exhibition will be open until August 31st.
The donation, made in 2006 and housed at the Orihuela Public Library and Historical Archive, comprises his private archive, a graphic collection, and a bibliographic collection. The exhibition highlights the connection between the correspondence received and sent by Ezcurra and the articles published in the magazine.
Thematic display cases feature texts from prominent figures such as María Teresa León, Vicente Aleixandre, and Ionesco, as well as letters from historians and Hispanists, some writing from exile. It is complemented by a presentation on the magazine's trajectory and opinions from its collaborators.

"In many places in Spain, carrying Triunfo under your arm was a way of recognizing each other and thinking you weren't alone."

Manuel Vázquez Montalbán · Writer
