The fire affecting a well-known junkyard near Vega Baja Hospital since Saturday afternoon is evolving favorably, as confirmed by the Provincial Fire Consortium of Alicante.

Efforts carried out during Saturday night and the early hours of this Sunday have allowed a large part of the fire to be extinguished, reducing the flames to a minimal level. This improvement in the situation has made it possible for some of the firefighting resources to begin withdrawing from the affected area.

"There is barely any flame, but the fire is not yet under control. Despite this, the situation is evolving favorably, and resources are being withdrawn from the site."

However, authorities have indicated that the fire is not yet considered fully controlled, so extinguishing tasks will continue throughout Sunday to ensure its complete suppression and prevent any flare-ups.
