This initiative complements the Family School Keys to Parenting, which targets families with minors aged 0 to 12. With this new edition, the service is expanded to include those with adolescent children, thus covering a broader age range.
The multi-family encounters are aimed at families with minors aged between 12 and 16 years. These families are pre-selected in coordination with the guidance teams from the municipality's high schools, ensuring appropriate and focused participation.
“"The main objective is to create a space of trust, collaboration, and dialogue to address key aspects of family life, such as self-esteem, communication, and the establishment of limits and rules."
The program is structured into two distinct phases. First, a thematic introduction accompanied by reflective dialogue to encourage active family participation. Then, an analysis of parenting styles, where participants reflect on their educational practices and their impact on their children's emotional and social development.
The sessions are led by mental health professionals and therapists specializing in family, inter-family, and multi-family therapy. The program is already underway and will feature a total of 15 sessions, in which parents and children will participate together. With this initiative, the Almoradí City Council reinforces its commitment to the social and emotional well-being of the municipality's families.
