The Civil Guard has arrested two men in Vinaròs for the theft and fraudulent use of a bank card, after they were detected at an ATM exhibiting suspicious behavior.

The events took place on March 27, when Civil Guard agents observed an individual at an ATM in Vinaròs attempting to partially conceal his face with a beret and a scarf. This behavior raised suspicions among the officers.
After making a cash withdrawal, the man met with a second person. At this point, he removed the clothing covering his face and handed over part of the cash to his accomplice before they both separated. The agents proceeded to identify the first suspect, who was carrying 350 euros in 50-euro bills and responded evasively about the money's origin.
Subsequent investigations revealed that a fraudulent withdrawal of 1,000 euros had been made using a stolen bank card. Thanks to the analysis of security cameras, the second person involved was identified. It was discovered that this individual lived with the victim and had stolen the card along with the PIN, thus facilitating the cash withdrawal.
The two detainees, aged 46 and 37, have been placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court number 4 of Vinaròs. The Civil Guard has reiterated the importance of exercising extreme caution in safeguarding bank cards and immediately reporting any fraudulent use to financial institutions and competent authorities.
