The works, awarded to the company Pavasal for 490,050 euros, will have an execution period of four months. The intervention will take place along the entire route of the road, between Avenida de la Diputación and Assagador de la Font.

The council explained that these improvements address several problems detected in recent years, especially those related to road drainage, pavement deterioration, slope instability, and the poor condition of side protections, a situation that worsens during intense rainfall episodes.

Borrell thanked the support of the Diputación de Valencia, which subsidizes 100% of the project cost. He highlighted that Ontinyent's presence in the Diputación, with Natàlia Enguix as vice president, is resulting in the culmination of various investments and good communication for planning and executing works in the city.

The councillor also recalled that the works on the Camí Reial de Gandia have already been completed, and now those on the Camí del Carril de la Costa, which connects with Fontanars dels Alforins, are beginning. These road improvements are fundamental for the activity of residents, increasing safety and avoiding recurrent road closures due to rain.

The project will act on one of the main accesses to the urban area, improving safety and comfort conditions on a municipal road approximately 1,550 meters long that connects directly with the CV-668 road. It should be noted that in 2024, the Diputación already acted on another section of the CV-655, so with this new action, the entire section connecting Ontinyent and Fontanars will have been fully renovated.

The intervention will involve the closure of the Camí de la Costa during the works and the diversion of traffic via the CV-655 road, which connects the Pou Clar natural area with Fontanars dels Alforins. However, during the first weeks, traffic will be allowed on the Camí del Carril de la Costa on weekends from Friday at 3:00 PM until Monday at 8:00 AM.
