The Bocairent Town Council has initiated the tender process for the creation of a new green area spanning over 1,200 m² on Batalla de Lepanto street, which will include the expansion of the outdoor space for the Sagrado Corazón Residence.
This urban development project will be carried out on a 1,237.07 m² plot, located at the beginning of the main urban thoroughfare and adjacent to the Sagrado Corazón Residence. One of the three levels into which the plot will be divided is intended to increase the outdoor area of the elderly care center by 720.85 m².

"In the Bocairent residence, 40 people live, and the current outdoor area is very limited; increasing it was a priority objective for the Town Council, which has always been committed to offering the best possible service to residents."
Councillor Vanesa Doménech highlighted that an elevator will connect the building with the new green area to ensure accessibility. The goal is to create a pleasant environment that fosters interaction among residents and their visitors.
The Councillor for Public Space, Ximo Carbonell, explained that the new green area on Batalla de Lepanto street will have three levels. The upper level, the largest, will be for restricted use by the residence. The middle level will be designed as a children's playground, and the lower level, at street level, will primarily serve to create a bus stop.

"The project as a whole will represent a significant improvement for the town and, furthermore, will complete one of the pending tasks from the urban planning of the nineties."
The total investment for this project amounts to 307,649.34 euros, fully funded by the Pla Obert d’Inversions (Open Investment Plan) of the Diputación de València, promoted by the Municipal Cooperation area and led by Vice President Natalia Enguix. The municipal forecast is that the submission of bids will be completed during April, and the contract will be awarded to a company to execute the works throughout 2026.
