Ontinyent welcomed a visit from 60 'travel bloggers' from various Spanish autonomous communities. The event, organized for the ninth anniversary of the Comunitat Valenciana Travel Bloggers (CVTB) association, allowed participants to discover and promote the city's main heritage, cultural, gastronomic, and natural attractions on their social media.
The official reception took place on Saturday morning at the Palau de la Vila. Attendees were welcomed by the deputy mayor and councilor for Economic Promotion, Natàlia Enguix, and the councilor for Tourism, Mª José Alhambra. Enguix highlighted the importance of hosting initiatives that project a modern and dynamic image of Ontinyent, emphasizing the potential of tourism promotion linked to culture and commerce for boosting local economic activity.
For her part, Mª José Alhambra expressed the honor it is for Ontinyent to open its doors to 'magnificent ambassadors' of local heritage and culture. She stressed the importance of promoting sustainable, quality tourism based on authentic experiences and the warm interaction with its people.
The president of CVTB, Bruno Tomàs, explained that the association chooses a different location each year to celebrate its anniversary and promote it. He noted that the collective's social media and blogs will showcase their experiences in Ontinyent, positively mentioning the traditional sausage-making workshop, the visit to the air-raid shelters, and the tour of the flooded park.
The founding president, Enrique Gandia, pointed out that 60% of the participants were from the Valencian Community, while the rest came mainly from Madrid and Barcelona. Gandia highlighted the growing interest in accessible and authentic destinations like Ontinyent, away from mass tourism, and thanked the city council for their support.
Throughout the weekend, content creators visited emblematic sites such as the Museum of Textiles of the Valencian Community, the Belgian Mothers Park, the air-raid shelters, the historic center, and the flooded park. They also participated in gastronomic activities and a commemorative gala at the Sala Gomis, sharing their experiences with thousands of followers.
