The political group has questioned the local government's management regarding the privatization of the Prado, Serpis, and República Argentina parking lots. According to the popular party, the operation, which provides for an advance income of 20 million euros for the City Council in exchange for a 25-year concession, does not ensure the continuity of bonuses for users and local commerce.
From the Popular Party, they point out that, so far, only the project report has been approved, which does not explicitly include the maintenance of these discounts. The popular representatives have regretted that the debate has focused on the management of previous governments instead of addressing the current concerns of the residents and merchants of Gandia.
“"If the government is so convinced that the discounts will be maintained, what it must do is expressly incorporate it into the specifications and leave it secured for the next 25 years."
The group has insisted that the priority should be to protect the interests of the citizens in the long term, rather than obtaining immediate liquidity through the transfer of strategic infrastructure. The popular party has reiterated that they will continue to demand transparency and documented guarantees to prevent the management of the parking lots from being affected in the future.
