The Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor has opened the call for the thirty-fifth edition of the Carmesina Children's Narrative Award, an accolade that seeks to promote Valencian literature for young audiences.

This award, established in 1990, is endowed with 3,500 euros, provided by the Mancomunitat, and the winning works will be published by Tàndem Edicions, part of the Edicions Bromera group. The publisher may also release finalist works if deemed appropriate.
The call for entries is supported by the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua and accepts original submissions until June 14, 2026. The primary objective is to support literary creation in Valencian and facilitate the publication of books aimed at children between 8 and 11 years old.
For submitting works, there are two modalities: modality A, which requires the submission of five physical copies to the offices of the Mancomunitat de Municipis de la Safor in Gandia, and modality B, which allows electronic submission in PDF format through the Mancomunitat's Electronic Headquarters, requiring a digital certificate or Permanent Cl@ve. The registration process will ensure the anonymity of participants.
The jury for this edition will consist of a philologist and writer, another philologist and writer, a professor of Constitutional Law at the Universitat de València and academic of the Acadèmia Valenciana de la Llengua, the winner of the previous year's Carmesina Award, and a representative from Tàndem del Grup Bromera Edicions. The jury's verdict will be announced on July 30, 2026.
