The city of Gandia hosted a historic edition of the Basket Cup Tournament, held from March 29 to April 1, 2026, which stood out for its high competitiveness, impeccable organization, and an economic impact exceeding one and a half million euros.

The Basket Cup Tournament, already established as a benchmark in youth basketball, surpassed all expectations in its 2026 edition. The event brought together young basketball talents, from the alevín to the senior category, including infantil, pre-infantil, cadete, and junior, in a competition that highlighted its international projection.
With a massive participation of 194 teams (117 male and 77 female), the tournament featured clubs from various regions of Spain and Portugal. This influx solidified the international character of the event, which year after year breaks registration and activity records, with 25 playing courts active from nine in the morning until nine at night, allowing for 450 matches to be played in just three days.

The tournament's impact extended beyond the courts, becoming a true digital phenomenon with over 3 million total views.

Much of this social media success was due to the integration of the Liga Valores, a pioneering extra-sporting initiative focused on human development and respect. This commitment to educational values generated inspiring content, with several viral videos individually surpassing half a million views, demonstrating public interest in the comprehensive development of athletes.
In addition to the sporting and digital results, the Basket Cup Tournament confirmed itself as a crucial economic driver for the region. During the event days, Gandia hosted over 2,500 athletes and 3,100 companions, totaling 5,600 visitors. This influx generated 16,800 overnight stays and a direct economic impact that exceeded one and a half million euros in the hotel sector, local commerce, and services.
As a festive closing, on April 1, a 3x3 tournament was held at the Municipal Sports Center of Gandia. This dynamic modality served as a grand finale to bid farewell to the teams and celebrate the success of an edition that has left an excellent balance among both participants and the host city.
