The Local Government Board of Gandia, through spokespersons Esther Sapena and Balbina Sendra, has announced a 75,000 euro investment for a new storm water pump and the approval of various grants in educational and social areas.
The Local Government Board of Gandia has unveiled its latest decisions, highlighting the acquisition of a new storm water pump for the Rosa dels Vents Pumping Station. This 75,000 euro investment will be financed by the mixed company Actuaciones Integrales SL and will replace one of the three existing pumps installed since March 1989.
In the educational and cultural sphere, a direct subsidy of 30,000 euros has been approved for the General Foundation of the University of Valencia. This collaboration will enable the development of an extensive program of activities at the International Center of Gandia, including initiatives such as “Nau Gran en Obert” for people over 50 years old, as well as conferences, seminars, congresses, and other academic activities. The agreement also covers collaboration in international Erasmus Mundus master's degrees, postgraduate programs, and micro-credentials, as well as activities of the Language Center and the dissemination of university chairs linked to the territory.

Additionally, a grant of 16,250 euros has been approved for the Diversity Física de Gandia Association, aimed at funding rehabilitation programs, adapted transport, social and cultural activities, and the general operation of the entity. The council has also requested two grants from Labora to promote employment, especially targeting people under 30 years old and unemployed women. Aid of 32,700 euros has been processed for the Parkinson Gandia Safor Association, to continue supporting its care work.
Another highlight is the request for a subsidy from the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to strengthen urban public transport. This initiative includes free children's passes, as well as discounts of at least 50% for young people and 20% for the rest of the population, with a municipal contribution that would allow for overall bonuses of 50% in many cases. As highlighted by Sapena, this measure seeks to promote sustainable mobility and alleviate the economic burden on families and workers in Gandia.

For her part, Balbina Sendra has reported on the provisional resolution of a line of rental aid within the framework of the State Plan for Access to Housing. With a budget exceeding 120,000 euros, this call has allowed assistance to 89 people in vulnerable situations, with an average aid of 1,348 euros. Beneficiary groups include victims of gender violence, people affected by evictions, or families with economic difficulties. A 10-day period is now open for the submission of allegations before the final resolution.
In urban planning, progress has been made in the Internal Reform Plan for the area around the Hotel Gandia, with the initiation of the strategic environmental and territorial evaluation procedure. This action will improve the zoning of the area and incorporate new spaces linked to hotel activity. The Board has also reported on the second urbanization installment of the Ferroviarios Houses project, an action that has already completed 70% of the works and continues to advance according to the planned schedule.
Finally, in the social sphere, a grant of 10,000 euros has been approved for the Archbishop Miguel Roca Foundation to support programs for people with addictive behaviors. The third extension of the agreement with the Palau Ducal dels Borja Foundation has also been agreed upon, with a contribution of 40,000 euros to continue promoting cultural activity and the conservation of historical heritage. New editions of the poster contests “Gandia Free of Drugs 2026” and “Gandia Free of Tobacco Smoke 2026” have been presented, aimed at ESO students to promote healthy lifestyle habits.
