The city of Gandia will host the School Aquathlon and the Autonomous Aquathlon Championship next Saturday, April 11, 2026, a demanding event that will bring together over 360 athletes from across the Valencian Community.

The Gandia City Council presented this morning one of the most prominent sporting events on the local calendar. The event, which combines swimming and running, will take place around the port and beach of Gandia.
The Sports Councilor, Jesús Naveiro, accompanied by the president of the Club Triatló Gandia, Álex Muñoz, highlighted the importance of this competition, which will attract more than 360 participants from various categories.
The day will begin at 9:00 AM with the third edition of the School Aquathlon, part of the autonomous phase of the Sports Games. This event will feature 233 participants in infant, cadet, and youth categories, who will cover distances adapted to their age, with swimming sections of between 400 and 500 meters and runs of between 1 and 2 kilometers.
From 12:00 PM, the adult aquathlon will take place, with approximately 130 registered participants. This competition will also serve as the Autonomous Championship and will include the paratriathlon modality. Participants will complete 1 kilometer of swimming in the port and 5 kilometers of running along the promenade and breakwater.

"This competition stands out for its high level of physical demand, but also for its inclusive and open nature, with categories ranging from young people to veterans aged between 60 and 70."
