The initiative, promoted by the parties forming the local executive, seeks to urge the autonomous administration to settle its debts with the city. This situation, they denounce, is affecting both municipal management and the quality of public services offered to citizens.
Of the total claimed, approximately 6 million euros correspond to actions initially financed by the City Council. These include projects such as the Edificant Plan and the new Palace of Justice, works already executed and paid for by the council, but which have not yet been recognized or reimbursed by the autonomous administration.
Furthermore, the local government denounces the loss of over 4 million euros in aid previously received, especially during the period known as the Consell del Botànic. These cuts affect, among other areas, employment programs and subsidies aimed at the tourism sector, which is key to the city's economy.
“"The Generalitat Valenciana is not fulfilling its obligations to Gandia and continues to suffocate its citizens. It is outrageous and regrettable that the autonomous administration is the main debtor to the local populace."
Finally, the declaration contemplates forwarding this agreement to the Second Vice-Presidency and Ministry of the Presidency, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Administration, as well as to all parliamentary groups represented in Les Corts Valencianes.
