Gandia's beach hosted thousands of people to celebrate San Juan Night, culminating in bonfires and a comprehensive security and cleaning operation that removed 95 tons of waste.

Gandia's beach was yesterday the scene of the San Juan Night celebration, bringing together thousands of people who enjoyed the special program promoted by the Festive Policies and Tourism departments. The night culminated with traditional bonfires, marking the start of the summer season.
The mayor of Gandia, José Manuel Prieto, positively assessed the festival's development, highlighting the effective functioning of the reinforced operation to manage the large turnout. More than 50 Local Police officers and 40 Basic Services brigade members ensured the safety of the evening.
The Councilor for Tourism and Culture, Balbina Sendra, emphasized the event's importance, considered one of the most anticipated in Gandia and which kicks off the 'Gandia a la mar' activity calendar. The program included musical entertainment, a fire show, fireworks, and the burning of the official bonfire, as well as a DJ set.
The night proceeded normally, with 13 interventions by the Red Cross, including one minor burn, 5 transfers, and 2 treatments for stings. The Local Police carried out 72 services.
The special cleaning operation, involving 50 personnel, collected approximately 95 tons of waste using front loaders, 'centaur' trucks, and tractors, ensuring the beach was in perfect condition for the first bathers of the morning.
Both the mayor and the heads of the involved departments thanked the operation team for their work, reinforcing Gandia's status as a benchmark for San Juan Night celebrations in the Valencian Community.
