Gandia Fishing Club Excels in Regional Corcheo-Mar Championship

Three athletes from the Gandia club qualify among the top five in the Valencian Community, securing a spot in the Spanish Championship.

The Gandia Fishing Club delivered an excellent performance at the Valencian Community Corcheo-Mar Championship, held in Pinedo, with three of its members qualifying for the Spanish Championship.

Last weekend, April 18 and 19, 2026, the Pinedo Controlled Fishing Zone, in Valencia, hosted the Valencian Community Corcheo-Mar Championship. This event, organized by the Valencia Delegation of the FPCV, brought together 29 athletes from across the region.
The Gandia Fishing Club had a notable presence, with 13 of its members participating in the competition. The event consisted of three rounds, each lasting four hours, testing the skill and endurance of the participants.
The results achieved by the Gandia club's athletes were very satisfactory. Three of them managed to place among the top five in the Valencian Community, thus securing their participation in the upcoming Spanish Championship. One of the participants won the silver medal with 4,715 points, while another finished third with 4,570 points. A third club member finished in fourth position.

Qualification in this regional championship is crucial, as the top five secure a direct spot in the Spanish Championship. The three athletes from the Gandia Fishing Club will represent the club and the Valencian Community in the national event, which will take place in the Port of Cartagena, Murcia, from June 4 to 7, 2026.
