The match was defined by a spectacular comeback, as the home team trailed significantly at halftime with a score of 37-53. The decisive play-offs will take place in Badajoz from May 28th to 31st. CB Sueca, placed in Group A Subgroup 1, will face CB Tres Cantos, Pujol Mollerussa, and Vitaly la Mar CB Badajoz, who will serve as hosts.
Before the game, the packed Les Oliveretes sports center paid tribute to local captain Vicent Santamatilde, who played his final match for the club after six seasons of commitment and exemplary service, as highlighted by the club.
Velabasket CB Sueca started the game with haste, lacking accuracy and showing defensive weakness, which allowed Vila-Real to establish an initial 0-16 lead. The home team had to overcome a challenging match against an organized opponent with good shooting accuracy, who dominated rebounds and outside shooting with fifteen three-pointers. Despite the difficulties, Velabasket reached halftime with a disadvantageous score of 37-53.
In the second half, the home team shifted the momentum with more aggressive defense and a higher shooting percentage. Driven by a dedicated fanbase, the third quarter ended with a 30-20 run for Sueca, bringing the score to 67-73 for the visitors.
In the final quarter, Velabasket CB Sueca intensified its pressure and, with 2 minutes and 15 seconds remaining, took the lead for the first time (79-77). A visitor's three-pointer narrowed the score to 81-80, but twenty seconds later, two free throws and a fast break sealed the home team's victory and Velabasket CB Sueca's advancement to the promotion phase, marking a historic day for basketball in Sueca.
