The Ford factory in Almussafes has confirmed it will produce a new multi-energy compact SUV from the Bronco family starting in 2028, a key step to ensure the plant's industrial continuity.

This announcement, received as a boost of optimism, addresses the need to secure more workload at a factory that has faced months of uncertainty. The new model, designed specifically for the European market, is part of a Ford offensive that includes up to five new passenger cars before 2030, combining electric and multi-energy technologies.
On the other hand, the potential entry of the Chinese group Geely into the Body 3 facility remains a point of strategic interest. Although the company's management has not officially confirmed the operation, it acknowledges that it is in talks with various industry players to gain competitiveness and scale in the European market.
The Almussafes plant, which currently maintains production of the Kuga model under a temporary employment regulation plan, hopes that these moves will allow for workforce stabilization. Collaboration with firms like Geely could provide an opportunity to utilize underused facilities and the industrial experience accumulated in the Ribera Baixa region.
