The 65th International Valencian Paella Contest of Sueca has selected the 12 participants from the Valencian Community who will compete for the title of 'best paella in the world' in the grand final on September 13.

The 3rd Regional Semi-final of the gastronomic event took place in Ribalta Park in Castelló de la Plana, where forty professionals from various Valencian towns competed for a spot. Participants cooked Valencian paella following the official contest recipe, under equal conditions and with the same ingredients.
After the jury's deliberation, the restaurants selected for the final in Sueca are: Taverna del Port (Grau de Castelló), Restaurant Vaiven (Alcossebre), Casa Quitín (Burjassot), Restaurant La Palmera (Paiporta), Restaurant Isabel Playa (Platja de Gandia), Restaurant Ca Ladio (Llombai), Restaurant La Garrofera (Serra), Restaurant Goya Gallery (València), Restaurant Setaigües (Siete Aguas), Restaurant La Llarga (València), Restaurant Los Mejillones (València) and Restaurant Ca Teresa (el Saler).

"The success of our competition's call for entries has been demonstrated once again, which excites us and encourages us to continue working with the same enthusiasm, especially seeing their happiness when they are awarded one of the 12 places for the final in Sueca."

the Sueca Tourism Councilor
The semi-final was made possible thanks to the collaboration between the city councils of Sueca and Castellón, the Castellón Municipal Tourism Board, and sponsoring companies. A large number of visitors came to Ribalta Park to observe the paella preparation and taste them. Funds raised from ticket sales for the tasting were donated to an oncology patient association in Castellón.
The Tourism Councilor of Sueca expressed gratitude for the involvement of the Castellón City Council, sponsors, and participants. Meanwhile, the director of the International Valencian Paella Contest of Sueca highlighted the consolidation of this regional semi-final, which this year exceeded expectations with 63 pre-registrations, of which 40 were able to participate.
