This visit, which will be the first in-person meeting, aims to advance the factory's future. Key topics for the union include the launch of teams for the new multi-energy vehicle and necessary investments to improve facilities, as committed since the Electrification Agreement.
The plant resumed activity this week after the Easter holidays, with scheduled shutdowns every Monday due to the current ERTE Red for all workers. The main expectation for the meeting is to soon learn about the multi-energy model to be assigned to the plant for 2027 and its production volume.
This workload would end the employment regulation for the workforce, which began in 2025 and extends for two years under the ERTE Red mechanism. Production at Ford Almussafes fell last year and during this fiscal year with only one vehicle in production, the Kuga, and shutdown days affecting all 4,152 workers.
For the remainder of April, production shutdown days will be Mondays 20 and 27. In May, the calendar marks eight days of inactivity in vehicle production and two in engines. The ERTE dates agreed for May mean that vehicle plant production will stop on May 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 18, and 25, while engine production will stop on May 4 and 11.
