Residents in the rural areas of Guadassuar and l'Alcúdia are experiencing a wave of over twenty burglaries in two months, leading to significant concern and a request for increased surveillance from local authorities.

Owners of more than a hundred country houses in areas such as La Garrofera, La Florentina, and Olivarons have reported continuous thefts on their properties. The pattern of the burglaries is consistently the same: they occur at night, involving the breaking of fences and gaining access to homes through doors or windows. Thieves show a clear preference for televisions, even when other more valuable items are present.

"People are scared. Here, in summer, we used to sleep with the door open. Now, everyone is installing alarms."

In response to this situation, the neighborhood has submitted a formal request to the city councils of l'Alcúdia and Guadassuar to reinforce surveillance and security in rural residential areas. They are asking for increased patrols by the Local Police, especially during nighttime hours, and closer coordination with the Civil Guard. They have also urged the councils to hold a meeting to address the issue.
The mayor of Guadassuar, Vicent Estruch, has confirmed that the head of the Local Police is aware of the situation and that visits to the area are being reinforced. However, he noted that these burglaries are also occurring in other scattered locations and insisted that the responsibility lies with the security forces. For its part, the Civil Guard indicates that, according to current data, there is no significant increase in criminal acts, although they clarify that these figures could change in future statistics.
Meanwhile, the more than 135 residents mobilized by this situation continue to demand greater vigilance, as burglaries persist and the feeling of insecurity continues to grow in the affected areas.
