A section of the A-7 highway passing through L'Alcúdia will have traffic closures from Friday at 9 PM until Sunday at 3 PM for drainage improvement works.

Drainage improvement works on the A-7 highway near L'Alcúdia will cause traffic disruptions this weekend. The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has announced that from 9 PM on Friday, June 19th, until Sunday at 3 PM, the carriageway heading towards Alicante will be closed between kilometers 367 and 372 to ensure worker safety.
The aim of the work is to enhance the A-7's flood resilience and drainage conditions by modifying its gradient, cross-section, and replacing the median vehicle containment barriers. These interventions follow similar work carried out recently between Picassent and Benifaió.
Traffic heading towards Alicante will be diverted to the opposite carriageway, which will operate with two-way traffic. This will also affect some highway exits and entrances. Access from junction 366 towards Alicante and exits at junction 371 (L'Alcúdia Nord, Carlet) will be closed. Travel to these destinations will be possible via junction 373.
Alternative routes for vehicles heading towards Alicante/Albacete will be signposted, including the AP-7, CV-42, CV-43, and CV-50 roads, to promote smoother traffic flow.
These works will continue over the first two weekends of July, with the same closure schedule: from Friday, July 3rd at 9 PM to Sunday, July 5th at 3 PM, and again from Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 12th.
A notable part of the project involves raising an overpass at kilometer 370.5 using a synchronized hydraulic maneuver to resolve clearance issues and reduce the risk of flooding in the section.
