Sellent is in mourning following the tragic death of a 15-year-old minor, son of former mayor Raquel Sancho, as a result of a motorcycle accident in Caudiel.

The municipality of Sellent, located in the Ribera Alta region, is in shock following the death of the youngest son of former mayor Raquel Sancho. The 15-year-old boy died this Saturday at the La Fe Hospital in Valencia due to injuries sustained in a traffic accident.
The incident occurred at 1:40 PM on the CV-195, near Caudiel, in the Alto Palancia region. According to sources from the Civil Traffic Guard, the motorcycle on which the minor was traveling as a passenger went off the road due to gravel on the carriageway. The driver, an adult, suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital in Sagunto. The minor, however, was airlifted to La Fe, where he died hours later.
The deceased minor is one of the two sons of Raquel Sancho, who served as mayor of Sellent between 2019 and 2023 and is currently the spokesperson for the PP in the City Council. In the last municipal elections, Jordi San Martín (PSPV) won the mayorship, ending decades of PP and UV governments in this town of just over 380 inhabitants.
The news has caused profound shock in the town, where the community is united in grief over this tragic loss.
