The provincial institution aims to support town councils in their efforts to “defend their municipalities' interests with full technical guarantees,” as stated by the President of the Council, Marta Barrachina. The subsidies are intended for local entities affected by projects or actions with territorial impact requiring specialized advice.
The planned cases include solar and wind megaprojects, along with their evacuation lines, as well as partition and demolition processes related to the public maritime-terrestrial domain. The Deputy for Natural Environment, José María Andrés, highlighted that this aid will enable municipalities to cover expenses for technical reports or legal defense.
Andrés emphasized that “affected residents and mayors deserve to have the necessary support and tools to protect the present and future of the province.” The call for applications sets different amounts based on the type of local entity: town councils can apply for aid up to €25,000; inter-municipal associations up to €3,000; and minor local entities up to €1,000.
The Provincial Council believes this aid line strengthens collaboration with municipalities facing projects with territorial and environmental impact, ensuring local administrations have access to specialized technical and legal resources.
