The event, scheduled for 8:00 PM, is presented as one of the most suggestive starts to the cycle, with voluntary admission available on the municipal website or at the box office an hour before. This concert defines the spirit of SONS Castelló, which for over two decades has built a program focused on music that escapes the obvious, such as folk, pop, experimentation, or minimalism.
Inés de Lis, born in Madrid in 1991, was the lead singer of Faneka, a unique project in Spanish alternative folk. Her solo career is not a break, but a shift towards her own language, more stripped-down and vulnerable. Her current project balances acoustic and digital elements, where guitar and voice coexist with electronic layers that alter the soundscape without seeking prominence.
Her initial releases, such as If I Didn’t Know Better, Reality has been jinxed, and Body & Mind, showcase songwriting that retains the melodic roots of folk but shifts it towards territories close to indietronica or antifolk. Her debut album, Time Honey, will be released on April 30, produced with Jan Raydán and published by RASO. The concert at the Teatre del Raval therefore comes at a crucial moment, just before the project fully solidifies, serving as a snapshot of the creative process.
“"My proposal is 'glitch folk,' emotionally clear songs intersected by small electronic interferences. It's not a sum of elements, but a form of tension: maintaining intimacy while shifting."
The Teatre del Raval in Castelló is the ideal venue for this type of proposal, as Inés de Lis's music does not demand volume but attention, building on nuances. The spring program of SONS Castelló will continue with two other notable events: on May 4 with Ólöf Arnalds, a reference in contemporary European folk, and on May 25 with Packaging, an American band that will close the cycle. All concerts will be held at the Teatre del Raval at 8:00 PM with voluntary admission, reinforcing cultural accessibility in Castelló.
