Compromís per Castelló has announced that it will once again present an institutional declaration at the next plenary session to express its opposition to the installation of the ammonia plant in Serrallo del Grau, demanding a clear position from municipal groups.
The Valencianist coalition has criticized the alleged inconsistency of the Popular Party and the PSOE, as, while in Almassora they have expressed their rejection of the project due to environmental reasons, in Castelló they have vetoed the proposal presented by Compromís.

"The ammonia plant they want to build in Serrallo del Grau contributes nothing to the economy or the well-being of Castelló. It leaves us with pollution, while the ammonia will be destined for other countries to decarbonize their industry."
Garcia emphasized that the Armonia Green project does not meet the needs of the territory, as it implies consolidating a model where Castelló bears the environmental impacts and industrial risks, while the benefits go to other European countries. Furthermore, he pointed out that the production of ammonia from the burning of gas from the combined cycle power plants in Serrallo dismantles the sustainability narrative associated with the project.
The party has reminded that ammonia is a highly flammable substance and that its production, storage, and transport in an area already saturated with industrial activity increases the risk to the population. They have also highlighted that the plant will consume large quantities of energy and water without a real return for the local economy.

"We cannot accept being the territory that assumes pollution so that others benefit from decarbonization. Castelló must decide if it wants to be a sacrifice zone or a territory with an economic model that generates value and opportunities for its people."
