Vocational Training (FP) is highly popular today, to the extent that the CIPFP Luis Suñer in Alzira, a key center in the Ribera del Xúquer, faces demand that far exceeds its capacity. Vice-director Rosana Marín has indicated that waiting lists triple the available places in some cycles, such as mechatronics and international trade, which are highly sought after. In other areas like administration and finance, or commerce and transport, enrollment could be doubled.
Other highly demanded specialties include administrative management, transport and logistics, and refrigeration and air conditioning installations. The physical impossibility of expanding groups forces the center to maintain these waiting lists, leaving many students pending potential dropouts. The center anticipates future growth to 1,200 students, a 30% increase, and a proposal for the institute's relocation to the Tulell area already exists. A new center has been requested from the Ministry of Education, but the process has been halted following recent departmental changes.
“"We could have 60% more students if it weren't for the lack of space and poor location."
The offerings at CIPFP Luis Suñer are extensive, but could be even more so. According to Marín, there are specialties with professional opportunities in the region that are not currently offered due to lack of space. The center has experienced over 42% growth in the last decade, increasing from 610 to 869 students between 2015 and 2026. The vice-director emphasizes that Vocational Training is well-accepted and allows direct access to university studies, with the possibility of validating previously completed training.
The CIPFP Luis Suñer, with over forty years of experience, is the reference center in the region. It offers complete training itineraries in high-demand fields, with in-person and blended learning, including basic, intermediate, and advanced degree cycles, as well as a specialization course in cybersecurity in operational technology environments. The center also provides guidance through its Professional Information and Guidance Office, which advises on academic and professional futures, maintaining contacts with institutions and companies to understand labor market demands.
