The Utiel council has observed an increase in waste dumping in public spaces outside of designated days, prompting a reminder to citizens about current regulations. The collection of bulky items such as furniture, mattresses, or appliances takes place on the second Tuesday of each month, shifting to Wednesday if it coincides with a public holiday.
It is essential for residents wishing to dispose of these items to notify the Local Police of Utiel in advance. This notification must include the exact location and type of waste, thereby facilitating the work of municipal services for proper management.
In addition to the scheduled collection service, the municipality of Utiel offers other options for waste management. The ecopark, located in the El Melero Industrial Estate, is open Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 14:30 and from 16:00 to 19:00, and Saturdays from 9:00 to 14:30. Furthermore, the ecomobile periodically visits the esplanade near CEIP Enrique Rambal on various dates throughout the month.
It is forbidden to deposit furniture, household goods, appliances, small debris, useless objects, etc., in public spaces. Those wishing to dispose of these items must request the corresponding municipal service for their correct management.
Municipal regulations, specifically Article 23 of the ordinance regulating urban solid waste, expressly prohibit the dumping of these materials in public spaces. Therefore, the Local Police are authorized to sanction infringements, with the aim of maintaining the cleanliness and good image of the municipality.
