A total of 20 sick minors from Gaza, accompanied by their families, have been evacuated to Spain for medical care, with La Fe Hospital in Valencia designated as one of the receiving centers.

The Spanish Government has organized the arrival of 20 sick minors from Gaza and their families, a convoy of 101 people in total, who landed this Tuesday at the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base (Madrid). The operation was carried out thanks to an emergency declaration by the State Secretariat for Migration, which will allow these individuals to remain in reception through a special program.
The NGO Accem will be responsible for managing the program, providing comprehensive support to the minors and their families. After the initial three-month period, they will become part of the international protection reception system.
The minors will receive treatment in various hospitals across Spain, including centers in Madrid, Asturias, Catalonia, Basque Country, Castilla-La Mancha, Murcia, and Navarra. In the Valencian Community, care will be focused at the La Fe Hospital in Valencia.
Several ministries collaborated in this evacuation operation, including those of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Defense, and Health, along with personnel from the Spanish Embassy in Jordan, the World Health Organization (WHO), and Doctors Without Borders.
Since July 2024, five similar operations have been conducted, facilitating the arrival of 236 people to Spain, 143 of whom were minors, for medical assistance.
