Villarreal CF has recorded a streak of three consecutive away matches without a win for the first time this season, including losses in Barcelona and Girona, and a draw in Vitoria.

Following their victory against Levante on February 28, in a postponed match from the first round, the 'Yellow Submarine' has failed to secure three points in their subsequent away games. This run includes a defeat in Barcelona, a draw against Deportivo Alavés, and another loss in Girona.
Despite this recent downturn, the team led by Marcelino García Toral remains one of the most effective sides away from their home stadium. In fact, they rank fourth among the best away teams in the league, surpassed only by Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Celta de Vigo, who have achieved ten, nine, and seven away victories respectively.
So far in 2026, Villarreal has played a total of seven away matches. Of these, they have secured two victories, two draws, and three defeats. The losses occurred against Getafe, Girona, and Barcelona, while draws were recorded against Alavés and Osasuna. Their victories came against Elche and Levante.
