Villarreal CF has achieved a historic milestone this First Division season, securing five consecutive home victories at the Estadio de la Cerámica, a record not seen in nearly a decade.

Last Sunday's 2-1 victory against Celta de Vigo allowed the yellow team to establish this mark, confirming the team's strength in front of its home crowd. This success reinforces the feeling that the Estadio de la Cerámica has become a highly demanding venue for opponents, demonstrating competitive maturity and the ability to win matches of various profiles.
The current streak began on February 9 with a convincing 4-1 triumph over Espanyol. Since then, the team has accumulated home victories against Valencia CF (2-1), Elche (2-1), Real Sociedad (3-1), and finally, Celta (2-1). Five matches, five victories, and a growing reliability at home in a season where Villarreal has elevated its competitive level in LaLiga.
To find a similar precedent, one must go back to the 2016/17 season, when Villarreal achieved five consecutive home victories at the start of the campaign. At that time, the yellow team defeated Real Sociedad, Osasuna, Celta, Las Palmas, and Betis. Since then, the Yellow Submarine had not managed to string together such a home winning streak in a single league campaign.
The streak could continue, as Villarreal still has three league matches to play at La Cerámica against Levante, Sevilla, and Atlético de Madrid. If the team manages to win these three matches, it would equal the best home record in its First Division history: eight consecutive home victories, achieved in the 2014/15 season.
