Despite attempts at personal notification, the Vila-real council had to resort to publication in the BOE (issues 52 and 58) for those records where individual notification could not be completed. Regulations stipulate a 5% surcharge on the receipt amount in these cases.
To avoid this surcharge, affected individuals can go to the Treasury Department (Josep Ramon Batalla street, 6) to collect their notification. It is essential to present a DNI for individuals or a CIF for legal entities. If notification delivery is not completed, a 20% surcharge will be applied, along with corresponding enforcement and seizure procedures.
“"The current objective is to prevent residents from having to bear costs higher than strictly necessary."
The local government, led by José Benlloch, has emphasized its sensitive approach to implementing the fee, providing a period of nearly two months for processing bonuses. The City Council will publish the lists in the news section of its municipal website, so that citizens can check if they are among the affected records.
In an extraordinary plenary session held on December 23, the Vila-real government team approved the modification of the waste fee ordinance, incorporating new bonuses. These include a 40% reduction for empty homes and a 30% reduction for homes with a single registered person who are covered by the Waste Technical Inspection (ITR).
