The Councilor for Health, Toni Marín, was accompanied by Luisa Escalante, coordinator of the Dolores Cano Royo Health Center and president of the Health Council. Both highlighted the consolidation of this joint initiative, whose main objective is to promote healthy habits and strengthen prevention in the population.
The program is structured around three main axes: mental health, physical exercise, and healthy eating. In this second edition, some activities that were very well received last year, such as the live cooking workshop, will be repeated, while new proposals are incorporated to broaden the impact among the population of Vila-real.
“"Health is not just the absence of disease, but a physical, mental, and social balance that must be cared for every day."
The City Council has emphasized its strong commitment to prevention, as well as the different initiatives recently promoted in this area, such as pilot studies in socio-health sector companies or institutional actions aimed at health protection, including a future motion to limit the consumption of energy drinks by minors.
The program includes talks, workshops, and informative activities in different areas of the city, with content focused on promoting healthy lifestyles, disease prevention, mental health, addictions, and emotional well-being. In addition, the initiative incorporates participatory activities aimed at citizens, such as workshops for families, practical sessions, and awareness actions, with the aim of fostering active public involvement in their health care.
The program will culminate on Saturday, April 25, in the Plaza Mayor with an open day featuring recreational and informative activities, aimed at promoting healthy habits in an accessible and participatory environment. The organization has thanked all the health and technical staff who made the initiative possible, especially nurses Irene Llop, Cristian Veses, and Paula Martínez, as well as institutional support. All residents of Vila-real have been invited to actively participate in this Health Week, conceived as an opportunity to move towards a healthier, more conscious, and involved society in its own well-being.
