The Vila-real Local Security Board has coordinated a special operation for the San Pascual 2026 festivities, featuring extraordinary police reinforcement and specific measures to guarantee safety at events with high public attendance.

The meeting, chaired by the mayor and the sub-delegate of the Government in Castellón, served to coordinate the joint operation between the Local Police, National Police, Civil Guard, Autonomous Police, and municipal emergency services. During the meeting, the main festive events were reviewed, especially those expected to draw the largest crowds, where police presence and preventive controls will be increased.
The Vila-real Local Police will deploy a special operation with 101 extraordinary reinforcements during the patron saint festivities, within a force that already numbers 100 officers. Additionally, the operation will include the collaboration of Civil Protection volunteers from Almenara, la Vall d’Uixó, and Moncofa, who will support preventive and assistance tasks. The updated police registry includes a total of 581 peñas (social clubs), one of the aspects also addressed by the Local Security Board.

"All security forces will work together and coordinated to ensure that we can experience our patron saint's festivities with maximum normality and in a safe manner for everyone."

Coordination will also cover bullfighting and pyrotechnic displays, which will be supervised alongside the director of bullfighting events. Furthermore, preventive road controls and the operation of Violet Points have been planned to prevent and address potential sexist aggressions during the celebrations. In terms of public services, the City Council has presented the special cleaning operation, planned portable toilets, and reinforced waste containers for the festive days.
The Local Security Board has also agreed to suspend the parade scheduled for Sunday, May 24, from the city center to the PAI Alaplana, following police recommendation. This decision coincides with the final firework display of the festivities and the match between Villarreal CF and Atlético de Madrid at the Estadio de la Cerámica, scheduled for 9:00 PM.
