The initiative, aimed at stimulating shopping in the local commercial fabric, was presented by the Councillor for Commerce, Xus Madrigal, along with the president and secretary of UCOVI, Carmen Gil and Tere Esteve, respectively, and other representatives from the association including Jennifer Covrig, Paula Cantavella, and Maialen Vázquez.
To obtain one of the umbrellas, exclusively designed for this campaign, consumers must make three minimum purchases of 10 euros in three different shops, or one or two purchases totaling 100 euros in different establishments. The campaign will be valid until stocks run out.
Every purchase counts and every action builds the city. In Vila-real, we don't wait for it to rain, we make opportunities rain.
During the presentation, Madrigal emphasized the municipal government's commitment to local commerce, considered a fundamental pillar of the local economy. The councillor recalled other recently promoted support measures, such as commercial voucher campaigns (expected to resume before summer), tax breaks, and collaboration agreements with the sector.
UCOVI highlighted the importance of local commerce as a generator of life, employment, and social cohesion, stressing the need to strengthen local consumption habits. With this initiative, Vila-real reaffirms its commitment to a vibrant and dynamic city model, where local commerce remains key to economic and social development.
